Thursday, 3-Sep-2015 at 1:00 PM--German Genealogy-Gathering Facts--Part 2--This course is an overview of the historical, geographical and political changes that affected Germany’s boundaries and caused population movements to other lands such as Ireland, England and America. An important timeline of German events will be discussed with a deeper understanding of the Thirty Years War and the upheaval of the Palatinate area causing emigration beginning in the 1700s. Novel groups such as these Palatines along with the Hessians, Pennsylvania Dutch and several religious groups including the Anabaptists will be discussed. Commons, Local History Room, Largo Library.
