The Rhode Island Historical Society has digitized its most important collections related to the colonial RI judicial system and made them available on line.
You can't search the collection by name, you have to browse it, but the collection has an organization to it that makes your search easier. If you know you have an ancestor from Rhode Island in the 1730 to 1784 time frame, your browse time may be fruitful.
